MFPS, the Facebook game, was developed in 2017 over a few weeks as a demo version of MFPS, showcasing the potential of the game template asset. The development primarily utilized free assets from the Asset Store.
To my surprise, the game quickly gained momentum, amassing over 500k account registrations and over 4 million play sessions during its nearly two-year run. Due to high player demand, I updated it several times, adding unique features and fixing bugs. However, changes in Facebook’s policies for their playground section led to the removal or non-acceptance of most indie games, including MFPS.
Although the game is no longer available on any platform, many of the unique features were released as addons for MFPS 2.0. The numerous bug reports from the large player base also helped indirectly improve the stability and quality of MFPS 2.0.
