The Steam Authentication addon connects the Steam SDK with ULogin, allowing players to automatically log in using their active Steam account instead of manually entering a username and password. Built with the Facepunch.Steamworks C# wrapper, it also handles the core Steam SDK initialization required to get your game Steam-ready.
Releasing a game on Steam requires SDK integration. This package handles that requirement by including the required Steam binaries and necessary initialization code. Its primary focus, however, is creating a frictionless login experience for your players.
How it Works:
The login screen loads.
The addon detects the active Steam session and fetches the player’s information.
It checks the game server to see if an account linked to that Steam ID exists.
If it’s a new player, it automatically creates a linked ULogin account. If they are a returning player, it simply logs them in and retrieves their data.
Integration: Setup is straightforward and takes just a few clicks. The integration is mostly automated; all you need to do is paste your Steam App ID.
